Viewing the Security Audit Log within Vizual Personnel Manager/Director Software

There maybe a time when you need to carryout a security audit to track down when a change was made to a record and by whom. It maybe just to check the reason for the change or it maybe to check for a security breach.

Vizual Personnel Manager comes with a Security Audit tool that can be found in the Security Module that allows you to view a wide range of information relating to user activity on your Personnel Manager databases.

To access the Security Audit:

1. Open the Security Manager module (you will need to close Personnel Manager first)
2. Log in using a suitable user account
3. Click on the Security drop down menu
4. Click View Audit Trail

Within the Audit Trail you can use a filter to view specific items such as on a specific Date; Action, User, Screen etc.

TIP: You may find that the Audit Trail can grow too large and become corrupted. It is therefore worth periodically checking the Audit Trail and deleting any old records.
