Case-study: Vizual Personnel Director Upgrade for City theatre company.
Our client, a well known theatre company based in London have been using Vizual Personnel Director since 2000. They have 7 main HR administrators who require access to the HR system to manage around 1000 employees most of which are performing artists.
After using Vizual Personnel Director for over 15 years, this customer identified a need to upgrade to a more up to date HR system that provided more functionality to meet some very specific requirements. They also wanted to upgrade their SQL Server from SQL 2005 to SQL 2012 yet their old software was not compatible with SQL 2012.
The project involved customisation to various parts of the standard system using the built in Screen Designer module by one of our qualified consultants which required the addition of customised screens and workflow to meet their specific requirements. The customisation was based on a fully scoped specification following on from a face to face Scoping meeting and tailored end user training.
The following requirements were identified as part of the implementation:
- Pre-migration Data verification check
- Full data migration including all Archived employees
- Configuration of multi level security profiles
- Development of several custom workflows
- Calculating sickness based on work patterns
- Employee Pay Increase wizard
- Data exports for Payroll
- Area to record CRB Checks
- Ability to create custom Reports
- Create Organisation Charts
- Record and track Appraisals
- Record and Track Medicals
We were able to deliver all of these requirements using the tools available within People Inc. for example, new screens and workflows were created using the built in Screen Designer module.
Even though extensive customisation was required, the project to upgrade them to People Inc. only took 8 days to complete. Since the implementation we have also added further customisation in the form of a Staff questionnaire to capture Social Mobility information for them to analyse.
Following on from the success of this project, the customer recommended us to to another company based in Greenwich who were in need of a flexible HR system to manage their 2000+ employees including Employee Self Service with online Time sheets and Web Recruitment.
