Update multiple records simultaneously within Vizual Personnel Manager.

Personnel Manager comes with some great time saving tools that many users are not aware of. Two good examples of these are Batch Inputs and Global Updates, allowing you to update multiple records at once to save time.

Batch Input

There maybe times when you need to create the same record for multiple employees or if you want create a new record for a group of people where the information may not be the same for each employee:

The Batch Input tool is designed to do either of these tasks. Here are some examples of what the Batch Input tool could be used for:

  • Adding a holiday record for a group of employees during the Christmas company shutdown period
  • Adding a record to all employees who attended the same training course
  • Adding a Benefit record for employees who have signed up for the company pension scheme
  • Creating an absence record for employees who were off sick last week
  • Adding timesheets for a team of employees.

Global Update

The Global Update tool is best used for update multiple records where the information is the same for a group of employees. For example if you decide to restructure parts of the company, you may need to rename some of your departments. The Global Update tool allows you to select all employees within a Department and then rename the department to something else for these employees simultaneously.

Both these tools can be found in the Tools drop down menu at the top of the screen within Vizual Personnel Manager however before using either tool, we recommend you back up your Vizual Personnel Manager databases just in case you make a mistake as their is no undo button once the tool has finished.
